WELCOME to our website, and to Castlefield Montessori School in Clonsilla, near Castleknock in West Dublin.
My name is Ellen Leahy, and I started Castlefield Montessori School nine years ago.
We are a small, family-run Montessori and toddler group catering for children from the ages of 2 to about 6.
I am devoted to the Montessori system of teaching. I enrolled at the St Nicholas Montessori College Ireland, in Dun Laoghaire, to receive the best possible training.
The school has a worldwide reputation for carrying on the Montessori tradition: my tutor trained under an associate of Phoebe Childs, who studied under Maria Montessori herself.
The Montessori regime proper begins with our 3-to-5
(or 6) year olds. However, at the age of just 2 years, our wobblers and toddlers are playing and working in the spirit of Montessori: they start by working with some of the toys, books, methods and practices which they will enjoy fully from the age of 3.
